Gene Lockard |
Born on what is now the site of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Houston, Texas. Served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era—only to end up in South Korea for the last year of his tour. Drifted through several jobs before entering college, where he earned a degree in Political Science. Lived in Northern California in the early 90s before returning to Houston. For the last 10 years, he's been a writer/editor in the energy industry. Recently began to write for himself. Writing philosophy: Writing is painfully personal—which likely accounts for some of the lows writers go through as they pursue their calling. So, why does one write? Why, for the highs, of course. Most writers, if given the choice, wouldn't do anything else. |
