Irving A. Greenfield, Ph.D.

I have been writing most of my 75 years. I spent two years in the Merchant Marine, graduated from Brooklyn College, and recently received my Ph.D from a university in England. Was in the Korean War. For the last eighteen years I taught at Wagner College, where I was Associate Professor (Adjunct) in the Humanities Department. I now teach at the Discovery Institute at the College of Staten Island. I have had several novels published. Universal International made TAGGET, a novel I wrote a few years ago, into a film for TV. I have also written and had produced, by the local public access TV station a video play, CAMP #2, BUCHAREST, which won a NOVA for the best drama of 1998 on Community Access TV. My short stories have been published in various magazines and e-zines. I was one of the five nominated winners of the Yukon Pacific Play Award for my one act play, BILLY, which was produced for Public Access TV and has had a successful Off Off Broadway production. It also won a NOVA AWARD for the most original play on CTV. CAMP #2, BUCHAREST was produced at the same OFF Off Broadway theatre. Both plays were produced at the Theatre Studio, in New York City. Camp #2. BUCHAREST was produced at Wagner College, Staten Island, and ENITLEMENT was also produced at The Studio Theater. JOE RAY had a reading at the First Stage Theatre, Hollywood, CA. My new full-length play, WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT WALTER, was be produced at the American Theatre of Actors in September of 2003. I will have three one-act plays produced at the Theatre Studio early in April of 2004.
